Cool Caps for Classic Riders By a complete fluke of timing, our summer headgear has arrived at just the right moment to, erm, keep you dry during the July monsoon... Dedicated followers of fashion have been pestering us for some time to add a lightweight cap to the range of RC regalia. So here we have the RealClassic Army Cap. It seems that classic bike riders would like something suitably trendy (yet not too youthful to suggest mutton acting like a lamb); protective enough to keep the sun's rays from scorching delicate heads (but not too stiff or heavy); generously sized to repel rain should a summer shower strike while wandering around an outdoor show (but not with floppy sides of an Antipodean nature, thanks); made of natural fibres, adjustable to suit all sizes of heads, not white or even beige because they show the dirt too easily, and not black or dark blue because they have the effect of concentrating the sunshine onto the skull and thence the cortex resulting in a complete inability to avoid buying unwanted bits of old scrap at autojumbles. And not a baseball cap, no; low profile peak or otherwise because (and we quote): 'they make me look like a rabid duck'. Right. Glad you're not fussy or anything.
After only an awful lot of searching we found exactly the right cap, styled much the same as army caps of days gone by so it even has some sort of tenuous classic connection. It's the Urban Trooper lightweight cap, and the RC version comes in the funky colour of 'olive' which pretty much means it's not too dark and not too light (and for our next trick we will cook porridge which is just the right temperature, see if we don't).
The RealClassic Army Cap is made of 100% cotton twill with a pre-curved peak and an adjustable velcro fastening at the back. It comes with the legend 'RealClassic Ride It: Read It' embroidered on the front in our handsome blue lettering. (We should point out that we're not suggesting you do the riding and the reading at the same time, and any legal claims to that effect will be treated with the best sneering derision we can muster.) The RC Army Cap costs £7.75 plus delivery, and you* can buy one online now using a credit or debit card, or PayPal account.

Click "View Cart" when you are ready to pay for your items. Remember, you don't need a PayPal account to make payments this way. We normally confirm your order by email within 48 hours of you hitting the button. We endeavour to send out all orders within a week, but please allow a little longer because there are some periods when we're at events or putting the magazine to press and it can take a little longer to process these things. Feel free to email RCHQ at RealClassic.net if you encounter any problem during ordering or want to check if your cap is on the way. Oh, and if you think that the T-Shirt Frank is wearing is pretty nifty too, then pop off to Odgie's page and buy one for yourself. PS: folks of a delicate nature probably shouldn't spend too long flicking around Odgie's site, come to think of it. ------------------------- *No, not you, EVGuru. You can have a complimentary one. In fact, it's in the post already. That's because you have been wearing an original, c2004 RC cap for so long that it has nearly disintegrated. Such dedication to the cause of dubious headgear deserves recognition… |
