RC Rugby Shirts

They're back! Fashion monsters everywhere can celebrate the return of the RC Rugby Shirt - and can chase away those chill winds which whistle around the waistline...

Note the figure hutting cut...Make a note of this, because a rare occurrence is about to happen right in front of your eyes. The price of something just went DOWN, instead of up.

Hello?

Sorry - was that a shock? Have a nice cup of tea and come back in ten minutes then.

Cos it's true! The new batch of RealClassic Rugby Shirts cost us less than the last bunch - so we're delighted to pass that saving onto you, dear readers. You too can be as sartorially elegant as our model, KarlB, who looks to be positively glowing in his RC shirt. Or perhaps he had too many burgers at Ardingly, who can say?

The new RC ruggers feature a wee motif on the front, discreetly reminding you of our name and this site's URL just in case you should have a Yet yer 'air cut...really bad senior moment and not remember what to type when you sit down at your keyboard. Mind you, the words will be upside-down when viewed from your perspective while wearing the shirt, so be careful how you type. A mirror wouldn't be too much help, either…

The wording on the back of the shirt throws caution to the wind and tells everyone in great big letters that you're a RealClassic Reader. (We did hear from quite a few folk who wanted an alternative to 'Rider', because although they are still wildly enthusiastic about old bikes and wanted to express a bit of solidarity with the RC Crew, they don't actually clock up many miles any more. So we do our best to oblige…).

Okay, now you're scaring me...These Starworld rugby shirts are made of a heavyweight 100% combed cotton. They're in RC colours so, inevitably, the body is a dashing dark blue and the trim is in white. Unlike sweatshirts, rugger shirts come with the traditional collar, cuffs, button-and-tape neck and side vents with herringbone tape. They're just a little bit more stylish than the average baggy sweatshirt.

This batch have come up a little snugger than the previous RC rugby shirts, so if you like a loose fit then we recommend you plump (plump? Hah!) for the roomy option if you're in any doubt about how big you are.

The sizes are:

  • Medium (roughly 38" chest)
  • Large (40-42)
  • XL (44)
  • 2XL (46)

    Sorry: All sold out!

And we have no idea what would happen if you actually tried to play rugby in an RC rugby shirt. Donning the shirt does not automatically endow the wearer with any special skills, you understand. Don't go scrumming without supervision from a responsible adult!
