BEWARE SCAM MAILS. If you list an email address online then you may
approached by 'agents' or 'brokers', offering to buy the bike for the asking
price, no haggling, immediately. They say that a third party will send too much
money and ask that you forward the balance to another account straight away.
The payment will be a fake and you may end up thousands of pounds the poorer.
There are now several versions of this fraud; including promises to buy
parts and pay COD. Don’t be misled by a sob story or the promise of too much
money. A genuine buyer will always want to inspect the bike or spares you are
selling. If you are contacted by a distant buyer then treat them with extreme
caution, and never agree to launder funds for a stranger. Ask to meet in a
public place. If you take a cheque from a foreign buyer then ask your bank to
confirm that the funds are kosher, and do NOT make payments to a third party on
someone else's behalf. Also – VERY IMPORTANT – you should never give out your
bank details to someone you don’t know on email. Be sensible.
A legitimate buyer will turn up for your bike – he probably lives just
down the road! Don't get entangled in some global scam. Classic biking is very
straightforward. If anything sounds too good to be true then... it probably is.

NORTON 1990 factory civilian Commander with integrated panniers. 32k miles Engine runs very well with plenty of power. I have the original wallet, owners manual, embroidered patch, sales brochure, tool roll. I have a few old MOT's from before I bought it in 2008 and plenty of receipts for what I did to it. I'll also include the workshop manual and wiring diagram and a few other bits and bobs. Body/paint is grey and very good with some small chips to paint as expected for age. Everything is there and it all works. Good front and rear tyres. New Startright digital ignition module fitted. Rebuilt waterpump (new bearings and impeller), new thermostat. Full fork strip and service with new seals and oil. Lower chain gaiter replaced. Rebuilt all 3 brake callipers with HH pads and stainless hoses (rear hose included but not fitted). Wiring extensively checked and cleaned. Direct wiring with relays fitted to the front headlight. Voltage gauge fitted in place of the fog light switch which has been moved to the handlebars. Converted it to a single battery with appropriate wiring mods. SatNav mount fitted. Startright intermediate plate drain (anti-smoking) kit fitted. Carbs stripped and cleaned.
The bike is currently in London and I can deliver to anywhere in the UK at cost. It's taxed until the end of July 2013 and is on an Irish Reg. Inspection welcome including test ride with suitable security.

WILLOW GREEN VELOCETTE VIPER, 1957. Original un-messed-about-with machine. Original buff logbook shows one owner since new. One MoT from 1976 shows 55059 miles. Speedo reading now is about 55300 miles (‘about’ because I’m still riding it). This is an unrestored, beautiful example of a Viper with the patina of age and the usual excellence of Velocette mechanics. I have a new V5 – the VMCC and DVLA have approved reissue of the original number so the hand-painted, sign-written numbers (VFJ 228) on the original number plates can stay! The magneto was completely reconditioned in June 2012 (bill for £225 comes with the bike). Engine, registration and frame numbers match the original logbook.
