HONDA CB900F. The bike was
on the road and running but the engine was smoking and had chain rattle. I
decided to sort the chains and smoke problem so I removed the engine. I also
decided at the same time to strip the whole to rebuild it cosmetically. The
local bike shop stripped the top half of the engine and replaced the primary
and cam chain, fitted new piston rings and new valve guide oil seals and
reassembled the motor. The rest of the bike just needs painting and cosmetics.
These bikes are going up in value and will be a future classic. Unfortunately I
don’t have the time to do it myself. I also have a Suzuki GSX1100EZ in bits if
anyone is interested. I want £800 for the Honda and am open to offers for the
Suzuki. The Honda is 1982, the Suzuki is declared manufactured 1983 and is an
import first registered 1995.

tyres. There is not even a rounded nut, and all the small covers are present.
Standard box with new bearings and gears where necessary, old ones there to
examine (some people would have used them). No fins broken with new piston
and liner. Some spares.

BEWARE THIS SCAM! If you list an email address online then you may approached by 'agents' or 'brokers', offering to buy the bike for the asking price, no haggling, immediately. They say that a third party will send a cheque for too much money (sometimes several thousand pounds too much) and ask that you forward the balance to another account straight away. The cheque will be a fake, sometimes a good copy of a legitimate one which may clear AT FIRST but will eventual leave you, the seller, several thousand pounds the poorer.
Don’t be misled by a sob story or the promise of too much money. A genuine buyer will always want to inspect the bike you are selling! If you are contacted by a distant buyer then treat them with extreme caution, and never agree to launder funds for a stranger. Ask to meet them in a public place. If you take a cheque from a foreign buyer then ask your bank to confirm that the funds are kosher, and do NOT make payments to a third party on someone else's behalf. Also – VERY IMPORTANT – you should never give out your bank details to someone you don’t know on email. Be sensible.
A legitimate buyer will turn up for your bike – he probably lives just down the road! Don't get entangled in some global scam. Classic biking is very straightforward. If anything sounds too good to be true then... it probably is.
