Important Update From RCHQ Bude

The RealClassic office is closed for the last two weeks of August, which means the next issue won't be out until late September. But we've got other activities lined up for you to enjoy in the meanwhile...

The RealClassic office at Bude is closed for our annual holiday until the beginning of September, so don't be surprised if you don't get a reply to any correspondence for a while. If you've ordered any magazines or merchandise then likewise you won't hear anything for a couple of weeks until we clear the backlog - so thanks for being patient. We will get all orders sorted as soon as we can. Promise!

You can help enormously by NOT sending any email to TP, Frank or Rowena until September. We dread to think how much junk mail will be waiting for us, and it's always a worry that genuine mails and adverts might get deleted as we wade through! So to be sure, please hold fire with your mail for a week or two.

Sigh.

Of course, the knock-on effect of all this lazing about is that the next issue of the RealClassic magazine won't be published until late September. So you'll have to wait an entire six weeks between copies - how appalling! Poor lambs. Still, there's no need to suffer withdrawal symptoms. Comes on down and join the gang and do a bit of RealClassicing in person - we'd love to see you at two great events in September.

Sunday 4th Sept

Come and join us at the RealClassic Ride-In and All Day Breakfast at the London Motorcycle Museum in Greenford, West London. Graham and Daisy will be signing copies of their new DD book (Graham can sign it; Daisy can drip on it) and have promised to drag Grandad along too. Meet other members of the RC Crew; Steve Wilson, Frank Westworth, RealMart, Paul G80, Rowena, Anarchy, Richard M and Del all promise to appear - and Richard and Del might even bring the fabled Blower Triton so we can have proof that it actually works!

The £5 admission fee gives you access all to all museum areas including the Heritage Centre and the 80-plus classic and vintage bikes on display, plus a fab fry-up brunch from 10am to 3pm, FREE hot drinks all day, talks from technical experts (on oil and maybe electrics), and live music. There's informal concours awards - and all RC Club members will take a free commemorative pen home with them (after filling in the visitor's choice voting form, of course).

See www.london-motorcycle-museum.org or call 0208 575 6644 for more info. You'll find the LMM at Ravenor Farm, Oldfield Lane South, Greenford, which is five minutes from the A40.

Sunday 18th Sept

The Stinkwheel Show at Beaumanor Hall in Leicestershire sprouts a new offshoot, ClassicItalia, dedicated to Italian motorcycles. The RC Crew will probably all be feeling a bit delicate after partying the previous night away at the first RealClassic Rally (all tickets sold now, so no late entries. Sorry…), but that won't stop us enjoying the expansive displays of classics from all eras, trade stalls, club stands, autojumble, Beaumanor Hall itself, the arena displays and the concours awards.

The fun starts at 10am. Admission is normally £4 but if you show your RC Club Card on the gate you'll be given a quid off that price.

Ginger Pussy. Mrs Slocombe.See www.oilyrag.co.uk for more info or call 01582 705156. Beaumanor Hall is in Woodhouse, between Loughborough and Leicester and accessible from the M1 or A6.

And if...

And if you can't make either event, then just keep coming back to the RealClassic.co.uk site. RealMart will be keeping the flag flying through the holiday season and there's plenty of new stories posted throughout the week for you to read.

Oh yes. And here's a big ginger tomcat, in case you couldn't live without him…

Thanks! To Martin, Mark and Mike, for getting on with the job while we go and lie in a heap. Much appreciated. R&F
