Exhibits are expected as in previous years from owners of all marques of classic motorcycle from the earliest flat-tankers to the latest versions of modern classics currently in production. All are welcome, including Japanese, American, Continental and Eastern European machinery, for which awards are offered in 18 type and year classes. If you can bring your bike along and display it for the whole day (through to the prize-giving ceremony at around 4pm) then you can apply for to exhibitors’ passes, which save you money on the standard £5 admission fee. You can download and print out the form here, and need to get your entry in by September 14th – so now would be good moment to fill in the form!
Entries are especially welcome from all sorts of two-strokes (after all, this is the ‘stinkwheel’ show!) and scooters, three-wheelers including sidecar combinations and trikes, military motorcycles of any era, off-road and trials bikes of all ages, and motorcycles ridden by female riders. There are special prizes to cover all those categories, so the machines which are occasionally overlooked at other events can enjoy their moment in the spotlight at Stinkwheel. And if the weather allows then all entrants will get a chance to display their bikes in the main arena, and soak up a few minutes of fame in front of the crowd.1931 BMW R2, a previous Stinkwheel concours winner
Don’t worry if your bike isn’t one of those amazingly polished, tip-top concours champs. The awards are sponsored by us, and we prefer our RealClassics to represent a spirit of motorcycling rather than a strict adherence to a set of rules. So the judges will be on the lookout for original machines, well-modded motorcycles, high mileage bikes in regular use and interesting examples of unusual marques – as well as carefully restored P&Js.The Moto Guzzi club at last year's show
You can also add your bike to the display of RealClassics; look out for the RC banners and you’ll normally find our stand somewhere near the arena entrance. (Oh, and someone remind MikeP to take the banners home with him at the end of the day!).Meet the RealClassic regulars. Maybe. Ken Philp with one of his many Ner-a-Cars pictured...
Various displays will run throughout the event in the arena, including the kind of madness exhibited here by Mick of MPC on his Ural combo:
Of course, it’s not compulsory to attend the event with one wheel in the air…
