Romney Marsh Classic Motorcycle Show and Bikejumble
There's just over a week to go until the Romney Marsh show, on Sunday June 26th. You could bag a bargain, meet a hero and maybe even sell some unwanted clutter...
Renowned for its laid-back and rural atmosphere, the next Romney Marsh Classic Motorcycle Show and Bikejumble will be held in the village of Hamstreet, near Ashford in Kent on Sunday 26th June.
The Guest of Honour will be Jim Redman MBE; quite a coup as the show coincides with the Goodwood Festival of Speed weekend but Jim has chosen to visit Romney Marsh instead.
Jim is a six times world champion and six times TT winner, and is one of motorcycle racing's most extraordinary characters. After migrating to South Africa, he started his racing career in the mid-fifties and was awarded an MBE in 1964, the year that also saw him win three world championships in a single day, a feat, to this day matched only by Mike Hailwood.
You can meet Jim in the marquee where he will be available for question and answer and book-signing sessions. He sold out of his autobiography at Ardingly in October 2015, so make sure you don't miss out.
There is also the popular and now traditional motorcycle-only autojumble, with tons of spares old and new, and motorcycles clothing and accessories for sale. Bag a bargain, find that elusive part for your current machine or get inspired by a new project. If youíre struggling for workshop space, why not book a garage clearout stall? Itís the ideal way to dispose of that uncompleted project, the machine you never quite got on with, those leathers that no longer fit and all those bits and pieces you never got around to fitting before you parted with the bike.
