Ones To Win
Would you like a classic new bike? Or a new classic bike? They're being given away all over the place at the moment. Here are four - ranging from a Vin twin to a Matchless single to a Triumph Bonneville. All up for grabs in various competitions...
The National Motorcycle Museum are celebrating their 30th anniversary in style, and have recently launched a new 'Friends' scheme. Annual membership costs £29.95 and includes a whole half-tonne of benefits - one of which is the chance to win this 1951 Matchless 500 single.
The G80, apparently worth over £4000, will be given away to one of the first 5000 people to become a NMM Friend: check out their FB page for all the benefits of Friends membership and details about how to join, or see www.thenmmshop.co.uk
Meanwhile, there's just time to enter the Jack Lilley competition to win this one-off special edition Hinckley Triumph Bonneville. The bike has been custom-painted to celebrate The Stranglers' 40th anniversary, with the band members' actual signatures encapsulated on its sidepanel. You enter by sending a text which costs £1.50 (plus your network charge): see www.jacklilley.com/stranglers for all the info. Enter by 31st August 2014 and the winner will be announced on 1st September.
Tickets for this cost £1 apiece, and if you don't quite snag the top prize then you might win one of the runner-up goodies which include a wax cotton jacket and magazine subscription. The draw takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on 16th November 2014 (if you win, you have to sort out collecting the bike from the club's HQ in Kettering). Tickets available online until early November at www.ajs-matchless.com/raffle tickets.asp
And finally… another bike being given away by the National Motorcycle Museum (have they run out of room inside or something?). This is also a raffle bike, and it's certainly a monster prize well worth winning: a 1951 Series C Vincent Rapide, valued at around £35,000.
This matching numbers machine will be put through the NMM's workshops and will be all ready to go to its new owner following the draw on 1st November 2014. There's even a BSA Bantam as a consolation prize! Tickets cost £2 each from www.thenmm shop.co.uk/raffle-tickets-1951-vincent-rapide
