Discounts Galore for RealClassic Readers
If you subscribe to the monthly RealClassic magazine, then you can claim a variety of discounts. Adventure holiday in Peru, anyone? A 12-issue subscription to RealClassic magazine is stompingly good value all on its own: just £29.50 for UK readers -- which makes it over 30% less expensive than the standard subscription rate for some other classic bike magazines. However, there's even more on offer for RealClassic readers, including discounts on holidays abroad, bike insurance, accommodation in the Isle of Man, bits 'n' bats from Norvil, show admission and more.
To claim any of these discounts you just need to give the retailer or supplier your RC Club number, which is on the personalised membership card you receive when you first sign up for a sub. They'll check with us that your membership is still current and you can keep a couple of coppers in your own coffers, where they belong!
To further tempt you, we can reveal that future issues of the magazine will feature a perfectly patinated girder-forked cammy Velo, an overview of the best Japanese classics, an MV Agusta 350, getting an original Enfield Bullet ready to trial, rebuilding an MZ on a budget of just £100, Moto Guzzi's V7 Sport, a gorgeous set of Gold Stars, Norton's Commando Fastback, a Guzzi V50 Monza, Honda's CB750, BSA unit singles, a modern Enfield Electra, an Ariel 500, BSA's Spitfire and all our usual workshop articles. All the information about subscribing to the magazine is here: www.RealClassic.co.uk/ subscribe Or read on to see more about the discounts which subscribers can claim… ---------------- Adventures In Peru We tried sending our advertising manager, Mike Powell, to the Himalayas last year, but he came back. Obviously not far enough away. Right. How about the Andes of South America, then? Mike will be hopping on a Jumbo in June 2009 to New York, on to Lima then a short internal hop to Cajamarca up in the Peruvian Andes. Next he'll collect a bike, either Honda Transalp or Suzuki DR650, either of which will be about a foot too far off the floor for a man of his inconsiderable stature. Mike will ride for a day on the TransAmerica Highway before heading for the mountains for ten more glorious days of adventure motorcycling.
The route takes in Glacier Lake, the Santa Cruz Pass, Canyon De Patos by the Pacific Ocean, Chan Chan Adobe City and the difficult terrain around Celendin. This Northern Peru tour, one of many organised by Adventure Peru Motorcycling, has a very relaxed itinerary which allows participants to explore the region with a back-up team on hand should a problem occur. Other tours are available taking in the more popular tourist areas around Cuzco and Macchu Pichu, and a tour for female riders is planned for later in 2009. Tours range from ten days to four weeks, covering anything from 1500km to 4500km. Or if you want to ride a little less, Adventure Peru offer a week-long 'rainforest tour' which involves shorter ride with a trip down river to stay in a jungle lodge for four days. If you can put together a group of five or more riders then Adventure Peru will even design a bespoke tour for you, so you can decide exactly how much riding and how much sightseeing you'd like to do. Prices for the basic two week tours start at around £1650 including bike hire, accommodation, internal flights, etc, but not the transatlantic trip. RC subscribers can claim a special 5% discount on any of these tours.
